2009 continues to be a great year for the Hammond Chamber of Commerce. We have so many events and opportunities for our members and community. We are always working on improving our existing events and exploring the possibilities of having new activities. Within the next few months, we will have the April and May Music in the Park, as well as the Membership Drive. As we move into the summer months, Chillin with the Chamber will be our big fundraising event. Then in the fall we have the 2009 Community & Business Expo. As you can see, the Hammond Chamber of Commerce is working for our members and community.
In April, Music in the Park will feature Big Al & the Heavyweights. Hopefully, the weather will be as great as or better than the March Music in the Park. It was gorgeous and we had a huge turnout. Put it on your calendar to attend on April 19th at Cate Square Park from 3-6pm. Then in May we have our Spring Season finale! Rockin’ Dopsie will be our headliner!!! Everybody loves Rockin’ Dopsie! If you have never seen him perform, it’s a must see. May Music in the Park will be May 24th from 3:00 to 6:00pm at Cate Square Park. April also brings our annual Membership Drive and Member Appreciation Crawfish Boil. This year we will have a Zydeco band and dance the night away! Don’t forget, if you want to be an Ambassador, now is a great time to sign up! Just think of all those potential contacts out there!
The 2nd Annual Networking Luncheon is set for June 10th at the Quality Inn on Morrison Boulevard in Hammond from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Reserve your space today to showcase your business to the Hammond community. There is a $10 registration fee so spaces will go fast.
Chillin’ with the Chamber has moved to Friday, June 26th from 6:00 to 8:30pm. As always, this event will be held at the Hammond Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Prize is still $10,000! We will also give away $1,000 and five $100 ticket give-back prizes. We will have food, fun and live music to entertain everyone. Tickets are $100 per couple. We look forward to seeing everyone at this exciting event.
The 2009 Community & Business Expo will be held on Thursday, September 17th and we will have a speaker and luncheon from 11:00am to 1:00pm followed by informative Break Out Sessions with speakers. The floor will be open from 3:00 to 7:00 for attendees to visit exhibitor booths and, as always, “A Taste of Hammond”. It’s time to start thinking about having a booth at the Expo and we are ready to sign businesses up. Call the chamber to reserve your space today.
