Rockin’ the Rails at the Covington Trailhead is a new FREE concert series scheduled for every Wednesday in October, 5pm-7pm, open to the public. The Northshore’s own energetic sounds of Soul Revival featuring “Motown, Memphis and More…” will kick off the musical series on Wednesday, October 7th. Following on Wednesday, October 14th, The Pfister Sisters, now celebrating their 30th year entertaining, will bring their New Orleans’ indigenous jazz vocal harmony to the Northshore. On Wednesday, October 21st, Jazz and Soul singer, John Boutte’, guarantees an extraordinary night of serenading in Covington. Closing the series on Wednesday, October 28th, Jumpin’ Johnny Sansone is scheduled to mesmerize the Trailhead with his harmonica playing rhythm and blues repertoire.
“We’re really excited to bring these terrific performers to the Covington Trailhead. The series is open to the public, specifically targeting “after the workday” audience attendance. National statistics indicate that presented with the opportunity, employees tend to shop and dine near their place of employment. They’ve already driven through traffic and found a secure parking spot – our goal is to develop this event to promote economic activity in Covington by providing the opportunities to capitalize on shopping and dining expenditures,” Pam Keller, City of Covington Director of Economic Development. “The concert series will kick off the idea to stay and enjoy Covington after work. We’re encouraging those who work in Covington to stop off at the Trailhead at the end of the day and enjoy a free concert, wind down with refreshments available through local non-profits, then possibly end the evening with dinner at one of our wonderful restaurants.”
