State Representatives Kevin Pearson and Greg Cromer (Both R-Slidell) are closely monitoring the situation in the Gulf and are working with constituents to ensure their needs are addressed.  Both Cromer and Pearson have posted contact information for various involved agencies and entities on their respective websites, and are available by phone to address constituent concerns.

"Both Greg and I represent coastal areas that could face direct environmental impact from this spill," Pearson said.  "The economic impact is already being felt in our community, and we will take all appropriate steps to address the situation from every possible level."

"On Monday I attended a meeting at the Slidell Library of over 200 commercial fisherman, shrimpers, crabbers, and charter boat captains whose livelihoods in the seafood industry are threatened," Cromer said. "The far-reaching impact of this event remains to be seen, but will undoubtedly be significant."
