Three St. Tammany Parish Hospital employees have earned national certifications for medical professional coders: Mandie Head, CPC, Amanda Walsh, CPC-A, and Barbara Myers Oakes, CMOM, CHM, CPC.
Head and Walsh work in STPH patient financial services. Oakes manages STPH Family Medical Clinic in Franklinton and is a certified medical office manager (CMOM) and certified healthcare manager (CHM).
Oakes and Head earned designation as Certified Professional Coders, and Walsh earned designation as Certified Professional Coder-Apprentice.
All three are members of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), the nation's largest medical coding training and certification organization. AAPC credentials represent the gold standard among healthcare professionals.
