The Parish received the following update from LaDOTD regarding Highway 435:
A contractor for the State of Louisiana will be replacing cross drains and then doing an asphalt overlay on LA 435, from LA 36 to Double Creek Bridge, for a distance of 7.53 miles. In addition, the roadway will be widened from 20 feet to 24 feet. There will always be one lane open on LA 435 for the duration of the job, which should last for about 6 to 7 months.
The only time that an entire section of the road will be completely closed is over a weekend, when a large pipe between the post office and the bridge (0.889 miles) will be replaced. LaDOTD will give advance notice, and have signs suggesting alternate routes when appropriate.
